Weekly Favorites
I thought I would post my favorites that I've been wearing from last week. Some are new discoveries while others are tried and true products I love for my makeup/skin care. I won't write a full review on each item but if you have any questions feel free to comment.
1. Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrator: This product is to be used in addition to a regular moisturizer but I use it as a regular daily moisturizer sometimes as it feels so cool and refreshing. It has really helped the moisture in my skin. Plus, it is oil and fragrance free
2. MAC 217 Eye Shadow Brush: I cannot believe I waited this long to purchase this brush. I received it this week, and it is love. You must invest in this one! I've already washed it and it holds it shape like new.
3. Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation (vanilla): I usually do not get on well with drugstore foundation. I am a pale/light neutral and it's hard to find shades that work with my tone and type. However, this is one of those foundations that does everything it says. My 12 yr old said to me your face looks flawless and the color is perfect. That is all I need to hear, as she is my worst critic. This is around $10, and it is worth a shot. I'm loving this over my Chanel VA!
4. Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer: I love this primer for drier skin types. It extends the wear of foundation and feels so light on the skin. I wear this with all of my foundations, but it really works well with powder foundations.
5. Cover Girl OutLast Stay Brillant Nail Polish in Forever Frost: Essie and OPI are my favorite polishes until now. This wears well. I wore it 5 days without a top coat and received so many compliments. My DH who never comments even stated he loved this polish. Pretty good considering I bought it because JLAW wore it to the Oscars Ha ha!
6. MUFE AquaEyes Waterproof Eyeliner in Black or Brown: I received these in the holiday set and I love them. They last and go on so easy.
7. L.I.L.Y. by Stella McCartney: This is such a lovely and feminine perfume. I got a sample from a Sephora order and will be buying a full size soon. Get this if you love floral light classic perfumes.
8. Urban Decay Super Saturated High Gloss Stick in Naked: I am really not a lip gloss girl expect for Dior or Chanel because other brands seem to be too sticky for my personal liking. However, I'm loving this MLBB shade. It goes on easy and feels tacky for a few seconds but then settles lightly on the lips. I'll be buying more shades.
9. Dior Iconic Overcurl Mascara: I know it's expensive, but this is worth a treat. I used some of my Sephora VIB points to try this and really like it. I probably won't buy every time I need mascara since the drugstore offers some great ones for less. But, I do like Dior Iconic when I want to splurge. This wears well with no smudging or flaking and holds a curl pretty well for a non waterproof mascara.
I hope you enjoyed some of my favorites. I be sharing more later.

Current Skin Care Regimen
I know it's been awhile since I've posted on my blog. I really want to start blogging on a regular basis. I have plenty to write about and hope to share with you more in the future.
Skin care is such a vital part of your beauty regimen. Great makeup starts with great skin care. I am of the mindset for skin care one should use what works for them to maintain beautiful skin. I know that in the beauty world the Clinique 3 step gets a huge amount of disdain. However, I do agree with the idea of Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize.
I tend to use a great deal of Clinique skin care products as the line works well for my dryish/normal and reactive skin. I tend to be sensitive to fragrance and oils but have found some great products that work for me. On to the regimen....
Cleanse:
Currently, I'm using the Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser. In the cooler months, I like to use a cream cleanser and this is one of my favorites. Of all the Clinique cleansers, I recommend this one. This removes makeup well and leaves my skin feeling clean and soft. However, if I am wearing long wear/ heavy makeup or if I am needing a little extra TLC, I use the iconic Shu Uemura High Performance Balancing Oil as a pre-cleanser.
Tone:
Last year, my skin was so dry , red, and flaky even during the summer months. I discovered this toner and I've not looked back. I do not recommend Clinique toners as they are the worst for your skin. Instead, I choose this alcohol free witch hazel. Since using this, my skin has never been better. The redness and flaky patches have disappeared. I highly recommend Thayer's Alcohol Free Witch Hazel Toners. For around $9, this cannot be beat in my opinion. I purchase mine on Amazon or drugstore.com.
Treatments:
Exfoliate: every 2-3/wk using Kate Somerville Exfolikate. Since using this product, I no longer have dry flaky areas on my skin. It's a HG product in my skin care arsenal.
Serum: I'm using Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus twice daily. Since I'm 41, I use to correct and prevent wrinkles. While I love others such as Estee Lauder, they seem to break my face out, so I'm sticking with this one that works and is gentle on my skin.
Spot Treatment: I don't get spots all the time. I tend to get them if I try a new product that is fragranced or heavy in oils, so this is a great product to clear the occasional spot. Origins Super Spot Treatment works like a dream. I encourage you to purchase this one. Yes, it's $14.50 USD for a small amount, but it is a good value for the purchase.
Eyes:
Garnier Caffeine Eye Roll On: I use this in my morning eye prep. This is great for reducing those pesky puffy eyes. The roll on works well for days that I am just at home without makeup
Clinique All About Eyes: I use this if I am wearing eye makeup and at night. However, I need to find a heavier cream for night but I've not found anything that doesn't irritate my eyes other than this one.
Moisturize:
Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion: I've been using this for years. It works well and does not irritate my face.
I recently added two more products for added moisture during these colder months:
Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Hydrator: This is used in addition to your nightly moisturizer. It is very light and feels soothing on the skin. I have used it alone and it works great that way too which my skin is more normal. It is fragrance and oil free which makes it great for my skin. I wake up with soft smooth skin. Give this a try if you need a booster and something that is oil and fragrance free.
Clinqiue Moisture Surge Overnight Mask: I recently purchased this after hearing how well it works as an overnight hydrating mask. This goes on as a light moisturizer that feels very soothing and non sticky or heavy. One of the reasons I skipped hydrating masks in the past is the heavy oily feel. But you won't get that feeling with this one. It feels so light and you will wake up with perfectly smooth and soft skin. I use this if my skin is feeling dry from the cold or for an extra pamper.
Thank you for reading this long post!
