Time for my weekly faves and fails... Or actually, I'm kind of late but here we go.
Favorite Purchase:
Urban Decay Naked Foundation in 2.0 and repurchase of BeautyBlender
I tried Naked when it first came out but was matched to a lighter shade that just didn't look right on me. And I returned it promptly. Plus, I didn't like the application at the time. Now, lets fast forward to me owing beauty blenders, and this foundation in a slightly darker warmer tone is a favorite. It covers well and sits great on my skin. I've worn this foundation and no other since buying it, so hopefully it continues to wear well. I use a hydrating primer type moisturizer underneath, and it holds the foundation for 8-10 hours.
I've purchased the beauty blender about 3 or 4 times already, but I was still happy having shiny pink ones to use with my makeup.
Favorite Skin Care Product: Kiehl's Acai Damage Fighting Serum I don't switch up my skin care very often due to my sensitive skin. But, I needed a new anti-aging serum as my beloved Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum was breaking my forehead out with tiny bumps. I've been using it for months without issue, but I discovered recently on the nights I use it my forehead is bumpy, red, and itchy. Vitamin C can be irritating to skin even when the product is all natural and low in vitamin C. So, I purchased
Kiehl's Acai Damage Fighting Serum. It's 100% organic/natural. It's great for sensitive skin with a ton of healing and anti-aging oils. A word of caution with Kiehl's--- Not all products are organic and green. I always study the ingredients as I've found tons of nasties, etc that I like to keep away from my skin. However, this product is free from and organic. It's working pretty well as in no breakouts, and it's very hydrating. I plan to pick up more in the range if this one works out.
Favorite Non Beauty Favorite: I downloaded
Gone Girl to my Kindle, and I'm enjoying it so far. I really enjoy reading but, I don't spend enough time with books. I plan to devote more time to reading and less to internet. If you have any recs, please leave a comment for me.
Fails: I made a pretty large MAC order and most of it
is either in my blog sale or in the return bin. I'm unhappy specifically with Prep/Prime Natural Radiance. It felt nice going on but when I removed my makeup my face had several spots. Plus, it make my foundation look cakey(too hydrating maybe?). Also, I purchased LE Vintage Selection Paint Pot but didn't like the coverage on my eyes. I'll stick to MAC eye-shadows, Painterly paint pot and lipsticks from now on.
